Objectives |
|
The project seeks to collect, disseminate, and use quantitative data for the study of international security, multilateralism, and the foreign policy of Italy. The project adopts the political science principles of documentation and analysis. Started in 2006, this research project was financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, under the two-year PRIN contract no. 2005144341_003. The research is directed by professor Fulvio Attiną, Department of Political Studies, University of Catania. Rosa Rossi, University of Catania, collected and recorded the data of 126 peace/security operations of the United Nations, NATO, OSCE, and the European Union (1947 - 2007) according to the Codebook Version 1.2007. She is also responsible for Dataset of Italys participation in the multilateral peace/security operations of the United Nations, NATO, OSCE, and the European Union (1947 - 2007) Dataset of the participation of France, Italy, Spain, and Sweden in the multilateral peace/security operations of the United Nations, NATO, OSCE, and the European Union (1947 - 2007). Simon Riesche, University of Siena, updated the Codebook Version 1.2007 data to September 1st, 2008, and upgraded the dataset according to the Codebook Version 2.2008 by collecting and recording also the data of other international organizations and ad hoc coalitions operations. He is also responsible for the Dataset of the multilateral peace/security operations of the United Nations, regional international organizations, and ad hoc coalitions (1947 - 2008).
