OrganizationSeminars The series envisages 10 seminars tackling the issue of Innovation and European Competitiveness. The seminars are held by Italian and foreign established researchers. Each of them lasts 3 hours. The languages of the series are Italian and English according to the speaker's nationality. Admission conditions The course is open to students of the first and second level of the Faculty of Political Science. Students from other Faculties and graduates are also welcome. Final exam At the end the series attending students are admitted to the final exam according to the below specified conditions. If not differently specified the bibliography consists of the papers (usually available online) suggested by the speakers. Admission to the final exam The students who have attended al least 8/10 seminars can seat the final exam. Attendance is checked in a sheet which students will sign before and after each seminar. The list of attending students will be online on the web site. The structure of the final exam The final exam consists in a 5000 word essay (about 10 pages A4, single line) about a topic selected among the ten topics addressed in the seminars series. The topic should be previously discussed with the head of the programme. A maximum number of essays will be assigned for each seminar which corresponds to the number of students divided by the number of seminars. The deadline for handing the essay will be communicated at the end of the seminar series and will be advertised on the web page. No deadline extension will be accepted. Results of the final exam The results of the final exam will be advertised online. Credits The final exam accounts for 5 ECTS (for undergraduate students) and 6 ECTS (for postgraduate students) when passed with mark at least equal to 18/30 and if the course is taken as an option course. Certificate of frequency The students that do not take the final exam will receive a attending certificate if they attended at least 9/10 seminars.
