2006-2007 edition The issue of European Innovation and Competitiveness is widely debated in the current phase of the world economy facing the advent of emerging economies such as China and India. However, different positions do exist within the economic realm as far as the definition and solution of the problems stressed by the new political and economic situation are concerned. Traditional economics and heterodox approaches tackle the issue from different viewpoints proposing different corporate strategies and economic policies. Drawing on the later approaches, the Jean Monnet seminar series on Innovation and European Competitiveness intends to provide a forum of discussion by addressing issues related to firms’ production and innovation as well as to economic policy issues.
